３月27・28日に予定しておりました　”TOKYO ALIFE 2020” ですが、残念ですが今回は延期とし、半年後の9月18・19日といたします。申し訳ありません。

延期の理由は、コロナウィルスの出現に伴う色々です。コロナウィルスは、突然出現 (emerging)した、 いわゆるエマージング・RNAウイルスで、通常のDNAより４桁は大きい突然変異率を持ちます。つまり不安定で圧倒的に速く進化していく。

今回のALIFE会議では、Open-ended Evolution and Human Mind ( 終わりなき進化と人の心)を基軸とし、Autonomy and Immorality （自律性と不死）や、Augmented Evolution（拡張された進化）といった新たなセッションを提案しています。その意味で、コロナ・ウィルスが進化する東京でやるというのは考え方次第では面白いのですが、この騒ぎに伴う交通や手続きの不便さを鑑み、今回は延期とさせてください。

この騒ぎのなかから新たな考えと新しい活動の方向が見えてくることを願いつつ、9月にこの東京・渋谷でまた元気にお会いできるのを楽しみにしています。

Unfortunately, TOKYO ALIFE 2020, scheduled for March 27 and 28, will be postponed until September 18 and 19, six months later. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Coronaviruses are so-called emerging RNA viruses that appear abruptly and have a mutation rate four orders of magnitude higher than normal DNA creatures. In other words, it is unstable and evolves overwhelmingly fast.

The basic theme of TOKYO ALIFE 2020 is Open-ended evolution and the human mind. We also organized new sessions on “autonomy and immorality” and “Augmented evolution”. Given the meaning of these sessions, it would be interesting to have a meeting in Tokyo right now,
but I decided to postpone it this time.

We look forward to seeing you again in September in Shibuya, Tokyo, and look forward to new ideas and directions of ALIFE.
